Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 April 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using TradeTally (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by TradeTally Ltd, registered in England and Wales. References to “we”, “us” or “our” mean TradeTally Ltd.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and be using the Service for lawful business purposes. The Service is intended for use by UK-based sole traders, limited companies, and partnerships.
3. Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at support@tradetally.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.
- You must provide accurate and current information when registering.
4. Plans and billing
TradeTally offers the following subscription tiers:
- Starter — free, with limited features.
- Professional — £19/month or £192/year (save 15%).
- Business — £39/month or £396/year (save 15%).
All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Prices may change; we will give at least 30 days’ notice to existing subscribers before any increase takes effect.
Paid subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial without charge.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time via Settings → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you retain access until then.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store card details.
5. Refunds
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel during a paid month or year, you retain access until the period ends. Refunds may be granted at our discretion in exceptional circumstances — contact support@tradetally.co.uk.
6. HMRC Making Tax Digital (MTD)
TradeTally can connect to HMRC on your behalf via the Making Tax Digital API. By connecting your HMRC account you authorise us to:
- Retrieve your MTD obligations and submission history.
- Submit VAT returns and income tax updates as instructed by you.
You remain solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any data submitted to HMRC. TradeTally is a software tool; we are not tax advisers. You should verify all submissions before authorising them.
We are an HMRC-recognised software provider. Our application conforms to the HMRC Developer Hub Terms of Use.
7. Your data
You own all financial data (invoices, expenses, customer records) you create within TradeTally. You may export your data at any time from within the application.
We will not sell, share, or use your business data for any purpose other than operating the Service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to commit fraud.
- Submit false or misleading information to HMRC via the Service.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent.
- Use the Service on behalf of a third party without their knowledge and consent.
9. Availability and support
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We provide support via email at support@tradetally.co.uk.
10. Intellectual property
All software, design, and content within TradeTally is owned by TradeTally Ltd and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own business purposes.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is”. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of any tax calculations.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time from Settings → Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable.
On termination, your data will be retained for 90 days in case you wish to reactivate, then deleted, subject to legal retention obligations.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will give at least 30 days’ notice to registered users by email before material changes take effect. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
